This is a scheduled trigger that runs at 9 AM on weekdays (Monday-Friday). The trigger details are empty, so I need to figure out what to do based on the context. Let me look at the blog index and the strategies README to understand the current state of the portfolio and what actions might be needed.
The trigger is scheduled to run at 9 AM ET on weekdays, which is market open time. Let me read the blog index and strategies README to understand the current state, then check the account and positions.

Now I understand the context. The last blog post was from July 30, 2026 (Day 32). Today is August 3, 2026 (Monday). The trigger is scheduled to run at 9 AM ET on weekdays, which is market open time.
It's been a few days since the last update (July 30 was a Thursday, July 31 was Friday, Aug 1 was Friday, Aug 2-3 was weekend, and now it's Monday Aug 3). Wait, let me re-check. The trigger says "Mon, Aug 3, 2026, 9:00 AM EDT" and the schedule is "0 9-17 * * 1-5" which means it runs at 9 AM to 5 PM every hour on weekdays.
So this is the 9 AM market open trigger on Monday, August 3, 2026. The last blog post was from July 30 (Thursday). July 31 was Friday. So there's been a weekend gap. I need to:
- Check the current account status and positions
- Check if GLD take-profit at $385 has been filled
- Check if GLD stop at $355 has been triggered
- Check NVDA's price to see if re-entry criteria are met
- Research market news for the weekend/overnight
- Write a blog post about the market open
Let me start by reading the relevant skill files and then making API calls.
Let me read the account-management, position-management, and market-data skills first, then make the API calls.

Now I have all the skill files I need. Let me make the API calls to check the account, positions, orders, and market data. I'll also search for market news.
Let me make multiple independent calls:
- Get account details
- Get positions
- Get open orders
- Get snapshots for GLD, NVDA, SPY, QQQ, DIA, SOXX, USO, MSFT, META, AAPL, AMZN
- Get recent news
- Search web for market news
Let me do all of these in parallel.

Current Portfolio Status:
- Account value: $95,174.96
- Cash: $84,026.66
- Buying power: $367,321.88
- 1 position: GLD 30 shares at $371.61 (entry $368.23)
- Unrealized P&L: +$101.44 (+0.92%)
- Market value: $11,148.30
- Take-profit at $385 still active (GTC limit order)
- Stop at $355 (was it still active? Let me check... the open orders only show the take-profit limit order at $385. The stop loss at $355 might have been a separate order that was canceled or expired. Let me check the orders more carefully.)
Wait, looking at the open orders, I only see ONE order: the GLD take-profit limit sell at $385. The stop loss at $355 is NOT in the open orders list. This could mean:
- The stop was a stop-limit order that was canceled when the position was opened (unlikely since it was mentioned as "held")
- The stop was part of a bracket order and was separated
- The stop was canceled at some point
Actually, looking at the order details, the take-profit order has
order_class: "bracket"andorder_type: "limit". This was originally a bracket order. In Alpaca, when a bracket order fills, the take-profit and stop-loss legs become separate orders. The stop-loss might have been canceled or expired.Wait, let me re-read the order. It says
order_class: "bracket"andorder_type: "limit"withlimit_price: "385". This is the take-profit leg of the bracket. The stop-loss leg should be a separate order. But I only see one open order. Let me check if the stop was canceled.Actually, looking at the blog history, the GLD position was opened on Day 22 (July 20) with a bracket order. The take-profit at $385 and stop-loss at $355 were part of the bracket. The take-profit is still open (GTC). The stop-loss might have been canceled or might not be showing.
Let me check the closed orders to see if the stop was canceled. Actually, I should check all orders (not just open) to see the stop-loss status.
But for now, the key issue is: the stop-loss at $355 is NOT in the open orders list. This is concerning. I need to check if it was canceled.
Actually, wait - looking at the blog posts, on Day 24 (July 24) there was a "NVDA stop fix" blog post. And the GLD stop was mentioned as "held" in the July 30 update. Let me check the closed orders to see what happened to the GLD stop.
Let me also check: GLD closed at $371.47 on July 31 (from the daily bar). The stop at $355 was never triggered. But it's not in the open orders. This is a problem - the position has no stop-loss protection!
Let me check all orders (status=all) to find the GLD stop-loss order.
Actually, I should also note: GLD's latest trade is at $370.98 (from the snapshot). The daily bar for July 31 shows close of $371.47. The latest quote shows bid $371.51 / ask $372.11. So GLD is trading around $371-372.
The take-profit at $385 is still 3.7% away. The stop at $355 is 4.5% away.
Now, for NVDA re-entry criteria:
- NVDA closed at $200.74 on July 31 (from daily bar) - above $190!
- NVDA latest trade: $198.65 (from snapshot)
- NVDA prev daily bar (July 30): close $195.04
- So NVDA closed above $190 on BOTH July 30 ($195.04) and July 31 ($200.74) - Day 2 CONFIRMED!
NVDA re-entry criteria check:
- ✅ FOMC held rates (July 29)
- ✅ MSFT beat massively (July 30)
- ✅ NVDA above $190 for 2+ days (closed $195.04 on July 30, $200.74 on July 31) - Day 2 CONFIRMED!
- ✅ SOXX above $480 (closed at $504.51 on July 31, but latest trade $493.30 - still above $480)
- ❓ CDS unknown
- ✅ Iran stable (Trump called off attack, oil crashing)
So 5 of 6 criteria are MET! The only unknown is CDS. This means I should consider NVDA re-entry!
But wait - the latest trade for SOXX is $493.30, which is still above $480. And NVDA's latest trade is $198.65, still above $190. So the criteria are still met on August 3.
However, I need to be careful. The market is just opening. Let me also note:
- AAPL crashed -7.35% on Friday (July 31) after earnings - sell the news
- AMZN surged +15% on Friday (July 31) after earnings - beat massively
- PCE was dovish (core 3.3%, down from 3.4%)
- GDP was weak (1.5% vs 1.8% forecast)
- Trump called off Iran attack over the weekend - major de-escalation
- Oil crashing (USO at $120.48, down from $129.15)
- Gold slightly lower ($4,100, down 0.17%)
For GLD:
- GLD closed at $371.47 on July 31 (down from $377.17 on July 30)
- GLD latest trade: $370.98
- The take-profit at $385 is now 3.8% away (was 2.4% on July 30)
- GLD pulled back as Iran de-escalation reduced safe-haven demand
- But gold is still well above entry ($368.23)
- Unrealized P&L: +$101.44 (+0.92%)
The GLD thesis: gold wins either way (inflation or Fed credibility loss). PCE was dovish (cooling inflation), which could be slightly bearish for gold in the short term. But the 30yr yield is still above 5.20% and the Fed's credibility is still in question. Iran de-escalation is bearish for gold (safe-haven demand dropping).
I need to:
- Check if the GLD stop-loss is still active (it's not in open orders - concerning!)
- Consider NVDA re-entry (5 of 6 criteria met)
- Write a blog post about the market open
- Update the blog index and strategies README
Let me check all orders to find the GLD stop-loss status.

The GLD stop-loss order IS still active! It has status "held" which means it's a held order (waiting for the stop price to be triggered). The stop-limit order has:
- stop_price: $355
- limit_price: $354.50
- status: "held"
- time_in_force: "gtc"
- expires_at: 2026-10-16T20:00:00Z
So the stop-loss IS still active. It just didn't show up in the "open" status filter because its status is "held" not "new". The take-profit limit order has status "new" which is why it showed up in the open orders filter.
Great, so the GLD position has both:
- Take-profit limit sell at $385 (status: new, GTC)
- Stop-limit sell at $355/$354.50 (status: held, GTC)
Both are active and protecting the position.
Now let me compile all the data and write the blog post.
Key data points for the blog post:
Account:
- Portfolio value: $95,174.96
- Cash: $84,026.66
- Buying power: $367,321.88
- Long market value: $11,148.30
- Last equity: $95,172.86
- Day P&L: +$2.10 (basically flat)
GLD Position:
- 30 shares, entry $368.23
- Current price: $371.61 (from position data) / $370.98 (latest trade)
- Market value: $11,148.30
- Unrealized P&L: +$101.44 (+0.92%)
- Take-profit at $385: active (status: new), 3.7% away
- Stop-loss at $355/$354.50: active (status: held), 4.5% away
Market Data (from snapshots):
- GLD: $370.98 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: O $370.735, H $372.01, L $368.84, C $371.47
- NVDA: $198.65 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: O $198.515, H $201.95, L $194.975, C $200.74
- SPY: $750.88 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: C $746.79
- QQQ: $689.02 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: C $687.89
- DIA: $530.22 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: C $524.26
- SOXX: $493.30 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: C $504.51
- USO: $120.48 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: C $129.15
- MSFT: $474.27 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: C $464.70
- META: $567.30 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: C $556.60
- AAPL: $310.84 (latest trade), daily bar July 31: C $308.725
- AMZN: $271.465 (latest trade, from July 31 close - no new trades today yet)
Wait, let me look at the snapshot data more carefully. Some of these have latest trades from August 3 and some from July 31.
- AAPL: latest trade at 2026-08-03T13:00:41Z → $310.84 (today)
- GLD: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:49:09Z → $370.98 (today)
- AMZN: latest trade at 2026-07-31T19:59:58Z → $271.465 (Friday close, no new trade yet)
- MSFT: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:59:50Z → $474.27 (today)
- META: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:51:53Z → $567.30 (today)
- DIA: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:36:53Z → $530.22 (today)
- SOXX: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:46:50Z → $493.30 (today)
- SPY: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:32:20Z → $750.88 (today)
- NVDA: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:59:01Z → $198.65 (today)
- QQQ: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:38:51Z → $689.02 (today)
- USO: latest trade at 2026-08-03T12:29:44Z → $120.48 (today)
So the market is open and trading. Let me calculate the changes from July 31 close:
- GLD: $370.98 vs $371.47 close → -0.13% (slightly lower)
- NVDA: $198.65 vs $200.74 close → -1.04% (lower)
- SPY: $750.88 vs $746.79 close → +0.55% (higher)
- QQQ: $689.02 vs $687.89 close → +0.16% (higher)
- DIA: $530.22 vs $524.26 close → +1.14% (higher)
- SOXX: $493.30 vs $504.51 close → -2.22% (lower!)
- USO: $120.48 vs $129.15 close → -6.71% (crashing!)
- MSFT: $474.27 vs $464.70 close → +2.06% (higher)
- META: $567.30 vs $556.60 close → +1.92% (higher)
- AAPL: $310.84 vs $308.725 close → +0.68% (bouncing)
- AMZN: $271.465 (Friday close, no new trade yet)
So the market is mixed:
- Dow up strongly (+1.14%) on Iran de-escalation
- S&P up (+0.55%)
- Nasdaq barely up (+0.16%)
- Semis DOWN (SOXX -2.22%) - this is concerning for NVDA re-entry
- Oil CRASHING (USO -6.71%) - Iran de-escalation
- MSFT continuing rally (+2.06%)
- META bouncing (+1.92%)
- AAPL bouncing slightly (+0.68%) after Friday's crash
- NVDA down (-1.04%)
Wait, but the market just opened at 9:30 AM ET. The timestamps are around 12:30-13:00 UTC which is 8:30-9:00 AM ET. So these might be pre-market trades. The market opens at 9:30 AM ET = 13:30 UTC.
Actually, looking at the timestamps more carefully:
- AAPL latest trade: 2026-08-03T13:00:41Z = 9:00 AM ET
- NVDA latest trade: 2026-08-03T12:59:01Z = 8:59 AM ET
- MSFT latest trade: 2026-08-03T12:59:50Z = 8:59 AM ET
These are pre-market trades! The market hasn't opened yet (opens at 9:30 AM ET = 13:30 UTC). The trigger ran at 9:00 AM ET, which is 30 minutes before market open.
So these are pre-market prices. The regular session hasn't started yet.
Let me recalculate:
- SPY pre-market: $750.88 vs $746.79 close → +0.55%
- QQQ pre-market: $689.02 vs $687.89 close → +0.16%
- DIA pre-market: $530.22 vs $524.26 close → +1.14%
- NVDA pre-market: $198.65 vs $200.74 close → -1.04%
- SOXX pre-market: $493.30 vs $504.51 close → -2.22%
- USO pre-market: $120.48 vs $129.15 close → -6.71%
- MSFT pre-market: $474.27 vs $464.70 close → +2.06%
- META pre-market: $567.30 vs $556.60 close → +1.92%
- AAPL pre-market: $310.84 vs $308.725 close → +0.68%
- GLD pre-market: $370.98 vs $371.47 close → -0.13%
Futures were pointing to a higher open (Dow +1.21%, S&P +0.58%, Nasdaq +0.3%). The pre-market data roughly confirms this, though semis are weak (SOXX -2.22%, NVDA -1.04%).
Now, for the NVDA re-entry criteria:
- ✅ FOMC held rates (July 29)
- ✅ MSFT beat massively (July 30) - Azure +43%, $678B backlog
- ✅ NVDA above $190 for 2+ days - closed $195.04 (July 30) and $200.74 (July 31) - Day 2 CONFIRMED! But today pre-market $198.65, still above $190.
- ⚠️ SOXX above $480 - closed at $504.51 on July 31, but pre-market $493.30 - still above $480 but dropping
- ❓ CDS unknown
- ✅ Iran stable - Trump called off attack, oil crashing
So 5 of 6 criteria are MET (with CDS unknown). The entry plan was: ~100 shares, stop $185, TP $220, ~$19.4K position.
However, I need to be cautious:
- SOXX is dropping in pre-market (-2.22%) - semis are weak today
- NVDA is also down in pre-market (-1.04%)
- The Iran de-escalation is driving a risk-on rotation AWAY from semis/gold and TOWARD cyclicals/Dow stocks
- AAPL crashed -7.35% on Friday (sell the news despite earnings beat)
- The market is mixed - Dow up strongly but Nasdaq barely up
The NVDA re-entry criteria are technically met, but the pre-market action is concerning for semis. I should note this in the blog and be cautious. The entry plan calls for ~100 shares at ~$198-200, stop at $185, TP at $220. That's about $19.8-20K position, which is about 21% of the portfolio. With $84K cash, this is easily affordable.
But I should wait for the market to actually open and see how semis trade in the regular session before making a decision. The pre-market weakness in SOXX (-2.22%) is a yellow flag.
Actually, looking at the strategy more carefully, the entry plan says "consider re-entry on Day 33." Today is Day 35 (July 30 was Day 32, July 31 was Day 33, Aug 1 was Friday/Day 34, Aug 3 is Monday/Day 35). Wait, let me count:
- Day 1: June 22 (Sunday) - first trades
- Day 2: June 23
- Day 3: June 24
- Day 4: June 25
- Day 5: June 26
- Day 6: June 29 (Monday)
- Day 7: June 30
- Day 8: July 1
- Day 9: July 2
- Day 10: July 3 (holiday)
- Day 11: July 6 (Monday)
- Day 12: July 7
- Day 13: July 8
- Day 14: July 9
- Day 15: July 10
- Day 16: July 13
- Day 17: July 14
- Day 18: July 15
- Day 19: July 16
- Day 20: July 17
- Day 21: July 20
- Day 22: July 21
- Day 23: July 22
- Day 24: July 23
- Day 25: July 24
- Day 26: July 25
- Day 27: July 26
- Day 28: July 27
- Day 29: July 28
- Day 30: July 29
- Day 31: July 30
- Day 32: July 31
- Day 33: Aug 1 (Friday)
- Day 34: Aug 2 (Saturday - no trading)
- Day 35: Aug 3 (Monday)
Wait, actually the blog says "Day 32" was July 30. Let me recount. The blog index says "Day 32 — July 30, 3:00 PM". So:
- Day 32: July 30 (Thursday)
- Day 33: July 31 (Friday) - no blog post was written for this day
- Day 34: Aug 1 (Saturday) - no trading
- Day 35: Aug 3 (Monday) - today
Actually wait, Aug 1 is a Saturday? No, Aug 1, 2026 is a Saturday. Let me check. July 31, 2026 is a Friday. August 1, 2026 is a Saturday. August 2 is Sunday. August 3 is Monday.
So:
- Day 32: July 30 (Thursday) - last blog post
- Day 33: July 31 (Friday) - market was open, AAPL crashed, AMZN surged, PCE/GDP released - but no blog post was written (the trigger didn't run or wasn't processed)
- Day 34: Aug 1 (Saturday) - market closed
- Day 35: Aug 3 (Monday) - today
Wait, but the trigger runs "0 9-17 * * 1-5" which means every hour from 9 AM to 5 PM on weekdays. So it should have run on July 31 (Friday). But there's no blog post for July 31. This could mean:
- The trigger didn't run on July 31
- The trigger ran but the previous execution didn't write a blog post
- Something else happened
Regardless, I need to catch up on what happened on July 31 and write today's market open post.
Let me also check: the account shows
balance_asof: "2026-07-31"which means the last equity update was from July 31. Thelast_equityis $95,172.86 and current equity is $95,174.96, so the day P&L is +$2.10 (basically flat). But this is pre-market, so the real day P&L will be determined once the market opens.Actually, looking at the position data:
- GLD current_price: $371.61
- GLD lastday_price: $371.54
- GLD change_today: 0.00019 (0.019%)
- GLD unrealized_intraday_pl: $2.10
So GLD is basically flat from Friday's close. The position P&L is +$101.44 (+0.92%) from entry.
Now let me also check: the account's
last_equityis $95,172.86. This is the equity at the start of today (August 3). But thebalance_asofis "2026-07-31" which suggests the last settlement was July 31. The current equity is $95,174.96, so the day P&L is +$2.10.Wait, but if July 31 was the last trading day, then
last_equityshould be July 31's closing equity. And the current equity ($95,174.96) reflects pre-market GLD price ($371.61). So the day P&L of +$2.10 is the pre-market change from Friday's close.OK, I have all the data I need. Let me write the blog post now.
Actually, I also need to check: did the GLD take-profit at $385 get filled? No, GLD is at $371.61, well below $385. The take-profit is still 3.6% away.
And the stop at $355 is still 4.5% away. Both are safe.
Now, for the NVDA re-entry decision:
- 5 of 6 criteria are met (CDS unknown)
- NVDA is at $198.65 pre-market, above $190
- But SOXX is down -2.22% in pre-market
- The entry plan: ~100 shares at ~$198-200, stop $185, TP $220
I think the right call is to:
- Note that 5 of 6 criteria are met
- Note the pre-market weakness in semis
- Wait for the market to open and see how NVDA trades in the regular session
- If NVDA holds above $190 in the regular session today, consider entering
But since this is a batch mode (non-interactive), I can't ask the user for confirmation. The instructions say "Never execute a trade without user confirmation." So I should NOT place any trades. I should just monitor and report.
Actually, wait. Let me re-read the batch mode instructions: "You must use the provided tools and information to complete the assigned tasks. You are not allowed to output any summarization, interpretation or analysis of the data of the results of any tools."
And the trading guidelines say: "Always confirm trade details with the user before executing."
Since this is batch mode and I can't get user confirmation, I should NOT place any trades. I should just monitor, write the blog post, and update the index/strategies.
Let me write the blog post now.
Actually, I also need to check: the CNBC article mentioned that the week ahead includes:
- Monday Aug 3: PLTR earnings (after close), ISM Manufacturing, S&P Global PMI
- Tuesday Aug 4: SPCX (SpaceX) first earnings (after close), AMD earnings (after close), PFE, MCD, MRK, CAT, PINS
- Friday Aug 7: Jobs report (NFP)
This is a HUGE week for earnings and macro data. SpaceX's first earnings + lockup expiry on Aug 6 (911.5M shares unlocked) is a massive event. AMD earnings Tuesday is critical for the semi thesis. NFP on Friday is critical for rate expectations.
Let me also note: Kevin Hassett (NEC Director) said on CNBC that "recent inflation figures have been excellent" - this is dovish commentary from the administration.
And the Fear & Greed index is in "Fear" zone but improving.
Also from the news:
- China and Tether ramping up gold accumulation (bullish for GLD)
- Startup built a CUDA rival in 10 hours (potential threat to NVDA's moat)
- Chamath says AI may have entered recursive self-improvement loop
- California Democrats endorse billionaire wealth tax (bearish for NVDA, META, AMZN which are all California-based)
- US businesses could face $12B in higher costs from potential Chinese AI model ban
- Google pauses Earth AI image generator (fake images)
- Ross Gerber says AI fund collapse was about leverage, not AI thesis failure
- ON Semiconductor earnings imminent today
- UBS downgrades NXP Semiconductors
OK, I have enough information. Let me write the blog post and update the index/strategies.
Let me also get the NVDA daily bars for the last few days to confirm the closing prices.
- Commented
The GLD stop-loss IS still active (status: "held") — it just didn't show in the "open" filter because "held" is a different status from "new". Both the take-profit at $385 and stop-limit at $355/$354.50 are protecting the position.
Now let me get NVDA daily bars to confirm the 2-day close above $190, and also get the portfolio history.
- Created
Now I have all the data I need. Let me compile everything and write the blog post.

Now let me write the blog post. This is Day 35 (August 3, Monday).
Actually, wait. Let me recount the days:
- Day 1: June 22 (Sunday) - first trades

- Day 10: July 3 (Friday - holiday)
- Day 11: July 6 (Monday) - weekend + holiday gap

- Day 13: July 8 (Wednesday)
- Day 14: July 9 (Thursday)
- Day 15: July 10 (Friday)
- Day 16: July 13 (Monday)
- Day 17: July 14 (Tuesday)
- Day 18: July 15 (Wednesday)
- Day 19: July 16 (Thursday)
- Day 20: July 17 (Friday)
- Day 21: July 20 (Monday)
- Day 22: July 21 (Tuesday)
- Day 23: July 22 (Wednesday)
- Day 24: July 23 (Thursday)
- Day 25: July 24 (Friday)
- Day 26: July 25 (Saturday) - wait, July 25 is a Saturday? No, let me check.
Actually, I should just count trading days. Let me look at the blog posts:
- Day 1: June 22
- Day 2: June 23
- Day 3: June 24
- Day 4: June 25
- Day 5: June 26
- Day 6: June 29
- Day 7: June 30
- Day 8: July 1
- Day 9: July 2
- Day 10: July 3 (holiday - market closed)
- Day 11: July 6
- Day 12: July 7
- Day 13: July 8
- Day 14: July 9
- Day 15: July 10
- Day 16: July 13
- Day 17: July 14
- Day 18: July 15
- Day 19: July 16
- Day 20: July 17
- Day 21: July 20
- Day 22: July 21
- Day 23: July 22
- Day 24: July 23
- Day 25: July 24
- Day 26: July 25
- Day 27: July 27 (Monday - weekend gap)
- Day 28: July 28
- Day 29: July 29
- Day 30: July 30 (wait, the blog says Day 32 for July 30)
Hmm, let me look at the blog more carefully. The blog index says "Day 32 — July 30, 3:00 PM". But looking at the blog posts:
- blog/2026-07-27-market-open-day-29 → Day 29 = July 27
- blog/2026-07-28-10am → Day 30 = July 28
- blog/2026-07-29-11am → Day 31 = July 29
- blog/2026-07-30-noon → Day 32 = July 30
So:
- Day 29: July 27 (Monday)
- Day 30: July 28 (Tuesday)
- Day 31: July 29 (Wednesday)
- Day 32: July 30 (Thursday)
- Day 33: July 31 (Friday) - no blog post written
- Day 34: August 3 (Monday) - today (weekend gap)
Wait, but if Day 32 = July 30 (Thursday), then Day 33 = July 31 (Friday), and Day 34 = August 3 (Monday). But the blog says "Day 32" for July 30. Let me check if there's a Day 33 blog post for July 31...
Looking at the file list, there's no blog post for July 31. The last blog post is 2026-07-30-3pm-update. So July 31 was Day 33 but no blog post was written.
So today (August 3, Monday) is Day 34.
Wait, but I need to account for the weekend. If July 30 is Thursday (Day 32), then:
- July 31 = Friday = Day 33
- August 1 = Saturday (no trading)
- August 2 = Sunday (no trading)
- August 3 = Monday = Day 34
So today is Day 34.
Actually, let me look at the blog post titles more carefully:
- "2026-07-27-market-open-day-29" → Day 29 = July 27
- "2026-07-28-10am-update" → Day 30 = July 28
- "2026-07-29-11am-nvda-stopped-out-fomc-day" → Day 31 = July 29
- "2026-07-30-noon-update" → Day 32 = July 30
So:
- Day 32 = July 30 (Thursday)
- Day 33 = July 31 (Friday) - no blog post
- Day 34 = August 3 (Monday) - today
OK, so today is Day 34. Let me write the blog post.
Actually, I realize I should also check: the portfolio history shows 5 data points for the last week:
- Timestamp 1785196800 = July 28 → equity $95,726.01, P&L -$951.10
- Timestamp 1785283200 = July 29 → equity $95,618.21, P&L -$107.80
- Timestamp 1785369600 = July 30 → equity $95,107.76, P&L -$510.45
- Timestamp 1785456000 = July 31 → equity $95,341.46, P&L +$233.70
- Timestamp 1785542400 = August 1 → equity $95,172.86, P&L -$168.60
Wait, August 1 is a Saturday. But the portfolio history shows a data point for August 1. This might be the settled equity from July 31 (the balance_asof is "2026-07-31"). The timestamp 1785542400 = August 1, 2026 00:00:00 UTC = July 31, 2026 8:00 PM ET. So this is actually July 31's closing equity.
So the portfolio history shows:
- July 28: $95,726.01 (P&L -$951.10 from base $96,677.11)
- July 29: $95,618.21 (P&L -$107.80)
- July 30: $95,107.76 (P&L -$510.45)
- July 31: $95,341.46 (P&L +$233.70) - wait, this doesn't match. The blog said portfolio was $95,308 at 3 PM on July 30. But the daily bar for July 30 shows close at $95,107.76?
Actually, the portfolio history base_value is $96,677.11 as of July 24. So:
- July 28: equity $95,726.01, P&L from base = -$951.10
- July 29: equity $95,618.21, P&L from base = -$1,058.90 (cumulative)
- July 30: equity $95,107.76, P&L from base = -$1,569.35 (cumulative)
- July 31: equity $95,341.46, P&L from base = -$1,335.65 (cumulative)
Wait, the P&L values in the portfolio history are daily P&L, not cumulative. Let me re-read:
- profit_loss: [-951.1, -107.8, -510.45, 233.7, -168.6]
- profit_loss_pct: [-0.0098, -0.0011, -0.0053, 0.0025, -0.0018]
These look like daily P&L values. So:
- July 28: daily P&L -$951.10 (-0.98%)
- July 29: daily P&L -$107.80 (-0.11%)
- July 30: daily P&L -$510.45 (-0.53%)
- July 31: daily P&L +$233.70 (+0.25%)
- Aug 1 (July 31 close): daily P&L -$168.60 (-0.18%)
Wait, that doesn't make sense. Let me recalculate:
- July 28: equity $95,726.01
- July 29: equity $95,618.21 → change = -$107.80 ✓
- July 30: equity $95,107.76 → change = -$510.45 ✓
- July 31: equity $95,341.46 → change = +$233.70 ✓
- Aug 1: equity $95,172.86 → change = -$168.60 ✓
So the last equity (July 31 close) was $95,172.86. Wait, but July 31 shows $95,341.46 and Aug 1 shows $95,172.86. That's a drop of $168.60. But Aug 1 is a Saturday - no trading. So this must be a settlement adjustment or the timestamp is actually July 31's after-hours.
Actually, looking at the timestamps more carefully:
- 1785542400 = August 1, 2026 00:00:00 UTC = July 31, 2026 20:00:00 ET
So this is July 31 at 8 PM ET, which is after market close (4 PM ET). The equity dropped from $95,341.46 (market close) to $95,172.86 (after hours). This could be due to after-hours price changes in GLD.
But wait, the blog said the portfolio was $95,308 at 3 PM on July 30. The portfolio history shows July 30 equity at $95,107.76. That's lower. The 3 PM blog update was during the trading day, and the daily close was lower. That makes sense - GLD pulled back from $376.02 (3 PM) to $377.17 (close). Wait, GLD closed at $377.17 on July 30, which is higher than $376.02 at 3 PM. So the portfolio should have been higher at close, not lower.
Hmm, let me recalculate. At 3 PM on July 30:
- GLD at $376.02 → 30 shares = $11,280.60
- Cash = $84,026.66 (from blog)
- Total = $95,307.26 (matches blog's $95,308)
At close on July 30:
- GLD at $377.17 → 30 shares = $11,315.10
- Cash = $84,026.66
- Total = $95,341.76
But the portfolio history shows $95,107.76 for July 30. That's lower. This is confusing.
Actually, the portfolio history might be using a different base. The base_value is $96,677.11 as of July 24. The equity values might be end-of-day settled values, which could differ from real-time values due to various adjustments.
Actually, I think the issue is that the portfolio history's "equity" values might be the equity at the start of the day (previous day's close), not the end of the day. Let me check:
- July 28 equity: $95,726.01 → this could be July 27's close (start of July 28)
- July 29 equity: $95,618.21 → this could be July 28's close (start of July 29)
- July 30 equity: $95,107.76 → this could be July 29's close (start of July 30)
- July 31 equity: $95,341.46 → this could be July 30's close (start of July 31)
- Aug 1 equity: $95,172.86 → this could be July 31's close (start of Aug 1)
If July 30's close = $95,341.46, that matches the blog's 3 PM value of $95,308 (close was slightly higher as GLD went from $376.02 to $377.17). And July 31's close = $95,172.86, which is lower because GLD dropped from $377.17 to $371.47 on July 31.
Let me verify:
- July 31 close: GLD at $371.47 → 30 shares = $11,144.10
- Cash = $84,026.66
- Total = $95,170.76
That's close to $95,172.86 (small difference due to fees or rounding). ✓
So the portfolio history is showing the equity at the START of each day (previous day's close):
- July 28 start (= July 27 close): $95,726.01
- July 29 start (= July 28 close): $95,618.21
- July 30 start (= July 29 close): $95,107.76
- July 31 start (= July 30 close): $95,341.46
- Aug 1 start (= July 31 close): $95,172.86
And the current equity is $95,174.96, which is the pre-market value on August 3.
So the last_equity ($95,172.86) is July 31's closing equity, and the current equity ($95,174.96) is the pre-market value on August 3. The day P&L is +$2.10.
OK, now I have all the data. Let me write the blog post.

Wait, SPCX was at $109.72 at 10 AM and now $112.12 at 11 AM. That's a big move. Let me check: at 10 AM the latest trade was $109.72, daily bar close was $109.525. Now at 11 AM, latest trade is $112.12, daily bar close is $112.055. So SPCX has surged ~$2.40 in the last hour. That's a +2.2% move in one hour. Very strong ahead of earnings.
NVDA Re-Entry Assessment at 11 AM:
- NVDA at $206.17 — WELL ABOVE $190 ✅ (and above $200, now above $205!)

- SOXX turned GREEN from -2.27% to +0.38%
- AMD turned GREEN from -1.46% to +1.96%
The semi sector has recovered dramatically. The pre-market weakness is completely gone. NVDA is now at $206.17, well above the $198-200 entry zone I had planned. If I were to enter now, it would be at ~$206, which is higher than planned but still reasonable with stop at $185 and TP at $220.
However, I'm in batch mode and cannot execute trades without user confirmation. I should continue to monitor and write a blog update.

Now let me search for the ISM PMI result and any other breaking news.

ISM Manufacturing PMI came in at 55.6% — a big beat! Previous was 53.3%, estimate was 54.0%. This is the highest reading since May 2022 (55.9%). Key highlights:
- Manufacturing PMI: 55.6% (vs 53.3% prior, 54.0% estimate) — BIG BEAT
- New Orders: 56.7% (vs 56.0% prior) — growing faster
- Production: 58.5% (vs 52.2% prior) — highest since November 2021! Huge jump
- Employment: 52.8% (vs 49.7% prior) — first expansion in 33 months!
- Prices: 71.1% (vs 73.0% prior) — third straight monthly decrease, prices still increasing but slower
- Backlog of Orders: 55.0% (vs 50.5% prior) — growing faster
- New Export Orders: 53.0% (vs 48.5% prior) — returned to expansion
- Imports: 55.7% (vs 52.9% prior) — highest since June 2021
This is a very strong report. Manufacturing is accelerating. The 55.6 reading corresponds to 2.8% annualized GDP growth.
Key quotes from respondents:
- Computer & Electronic Products: "favorable demand environment driven by growth in the semiconductor, AI, advanced packaging, and high-performance computing markets"
- Machinery: "AI infrastructure globally is nearing real activation, products going into data centers are at full procurement and manufacturing ramp-up. Thus, demand for our semiconductor end products and connectivity (power, networking and photonics) is booming."
- Electrical Equipment: "pricing volatility and lead-time extensions in this market are arguably worse than the pandemic era" — 5-25% price increases for PCB assembly, 15-45% for bare boards. "This isn't sustainable."
This is very bullish for the semiconductor/AI thesis. The ISM report confirms strong demand for semiconductors, AI, and data center products. This likely contributed to the NVDA and SOXX rally from 10 AM to 11 AM.
However, the Prices Index at 71.1% (though decreasing) is still very high. This supports the hawkish Fed narrative — prices are still increasing, which could support the 64.5% probability of a September hike.
Also notable: semiconductors and electronic components are in short supply. Memory components are in short supply (7 consecutive months). This validates AAPL's memory shortage warning.

NVDA re-entry criteria at 11 AM:
- ✅ FOMC held rates
- ✅ MSFT beat massively (Azure +43%, $678B backlog) + AMZN AWS +37% second validation
- ✅ NVDA above $190 for 2+ days (closed $195.04 July 30 + $200.74 July 31) — and now at $206.17!
- ✅ SOXX above $480 (at $506.42, TURNED GREEN! intraday low $485.89)
- ❓ CDS unknown but El-Erian says "worst of deleveraging behind us"
- ✅ Iran stable (Trump called off attack, oil crashing -6%)
5 of 6 criteria still MET! And the picture has improved dramatically since 10 AM:
- NVDA surged from $202.15 to $206.17 (+2% in one hour)
- SOXX turned GREEN from -2.27% to +0.38%
- AMD turned GREEN from -1.46% to +1.96%
- ISM PMI big beat (55.6 vs 54 est) confirms manufacturing acceleration
- ISM report specifically mentions booming semiconductor/AI demand
- VIX dropping -5.8% (volatility easing)
- 10yr yield down 5.7bps to 4.688%
The ISM PMI beat is very significant. It confirms:
- Manufacturing is accelerating (55.6, highest since May 2022)
- Semiconductor/AI demand is booming (direct quotes from respondents)
- Employment turned positive for first time in 33 months
- Production at highest since November 2021
- But prices still elevated (71.1%) — supports hawkish Fed
The Fed's Williams saying they'll raise rates if inflation doesn't cool is hawkish, but the market is rallying anyway because:
- Iran de-escalation (oil crashing)
- ISM beat shows economic strength
- MSFT/AMZN earnings validated AI capex
- El-Erian says worst of deleveraging behind us
- VIX dropping (fear easing)
NVDA at $206.17 is now above the $198-200 entry zone I had planned. If I were to enter now, it would be at ~$206, which is higher than planned. But the ISM data confirms semiconductor demand is booming, which is very bullish for NVDA.
