Microsoft Teams Integration

Deploy ChatBotKit AI bots into Microsoft Teams channels and direct messages with full skillset, dataset, and memory support.

ChatBotKit's Microsoft Teams integration brings conversational AI directly into the enterprise collaboration tool your organization relies on. Deploy intelligent bots into Teams channels and direct messages so employees can get answers and trigger workflows without leaving Microsoft 365.

All of ChatBotKit's AI models, skillsets, datasets, and memory features are fully compatible, giving Teams bots the same depth of customization available across every other ChatBotKit integration.

What You Can Do

  • Respond in channels: Bots answer mentions and messages with context-aware, AI-generated replies.
  • Handle direct messages: Hold one-on-one conversations with employees inside Teams.
  • Run agentic workflows: A simple chat message can trigger multi-step actions through ChatBotKit's skillset engine.
  • Search company knowledge: Connect datasets so the bot answers from proprietary information.
  • Automate enterprise tasks: Power IT helpdesk, HR onboarding, and sales support assistants that live inside Teams.

How It Works

The integration uses the Microsoft Bot Framework. When a user mentions or messages the bot in Teams, Microsoft forwards the activity to ChatBotKit, which generates a response with the bot's configured model, skillsets, datasets, and memory, then replies in the channel or direct message thread. Because the bot runs on the same engine as the rest of your ChatBotKit account, behavior stays consistent everywhere it is deployed.

Setup

From the ChatBotKit portal, open the Integrations section and select Microsoft Teams. Register a Bot Framework application in Azure, provide your App ID and App Secret, then configure the bot's name and AI behavior and deploy it to any Team in your organization. No custom infrastructure or deep technical expertise is required.

Practical Uses

Microsoft Teams bots are a natural fit for internal assistants: IT helpdesk automation, HR onboarding, policy and document lookups, and sales support. Because the assistant lives where employees already work, adoption is high and answers reach people in the flow of their daily communication.
